You may have noticed a layer “green scum” on the Duck Pond.
That is Duckweed.
The Portage Rotary Club has been working with the City of Portage la Prairie’s Operations Department to find a long term solution to the growth of duckweed on the pond. So far, no long term solution has been found although we are continuing to look into this. Our apologies for the look of the pond water this year. It is unfortunately beyond our control.
